Another thing to factor in is the visual weight. If you purchase metal and glass tables for example they will not carry the same weight as a wood table. As such you can go with something that`s a bit larger or which makes a bigger statement. It will have the same impact on the room as a smaller wood table. If it has extensive use of glass such as having top and bottom shelves that are glass you can scale up even a bit more.
While styles and tastes have changed over the years nesting tables have enjoyed a resurgence in popularity in recent years. As manufacturers have developed new takes on this classic new nesting end tables are finding their way back on the market in large numbers. In fact there are literally hundreds of designs to choose from when it comes to nesting tables from the classic look of the 1930s to rustic designs exotic models eclectic designs and of course traditional contemporary and even modern versions. While homes seem to be larger than ever many homeowners are in the process of downsizing these days either because of economic circumstances or simply a desire to live a simpler life. Just because you live in a smaller dwelling doesn`t mean that you have to give up the comforts of home you`ve become so used to. Rather you may simply need to change some of the furnishings keeping your favorites and then balancing them with smaller support pieces.
As you probably know end tables are highly desirable pieces of furniture to have in your living room great room or family room. But they usually have a bit of wasted space. Some models may offer a shelf on the bottom but not much else. With nested end tables you gain a lot of extra real estate for entertaining. As more people arrive and more potluck dishes crowd your table you can simply pull out another one of the nesting end tables and use it for the overflow.
Coffee Tables and End Tables: Placement. The end table should be placed right up beside the arm of the chair. Not directly in contact because any subsequent movement of then chair could easily shake the table and spill the contents of any container. Coffee tables should be placed 18" from the sofa enough room to enable you to walk between the two items of furniture but not so far as to place your cup out of each.
